The brain and nervous system are among the most studied targets in EMF research — and not without reason. Researchers examining the neurological effects of prolonged EMF exposure have documented connections to cognitive changes, mood, and sleep quality.
Your Head Is Your Highest EMF Exposure Point.
Most Protection Ignores That.
Of all the surfaces on your body, your head is the one that spends the most time in direct proximity to the wireless signals you use every day. Think about where your phone usually is — held against your ear on calls — or wireless earbuds sit in your ear canal for hours.
A 2016 review in the Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy identified widespread neuropsychiatric effects from microwave-frequency EMF exposure. Research examining children's EMF exposure found that electromagnetic fields from smartphones are more pronounced in children's heads due to their thinner skulls and developing tissue. (Pall, 2016; Moon, 2020)
The Waveguard Faraday Hat easily shields your head and brain from this harmful EMF radiation.
How a Hat
Becomes a Shield
Silver has been used in EMF shielding applications long before this hat. Its conductivity makes it a natural attenuator of electromagnetic radiation — a property that's been applied in medical garments, military-grade shielding, and technical protective equipment for decades. The science isn't new.
The Faraday Hat is woven with silver-lined thread throughout the crown. That thread creates a continuous conductive mesh — and a conductive mesh around the head is, by definition, a Faraday cage. When EMF from nearby sources contacts that mesh, the conductive silver layer attenuates the incoming field before it reaches your skull. Your phone still works. Your earbuds still connect. The hat just protects your brain from the radiation exposure.
What the hat does
Provides targeted Faraday shielding for your head — your highest direct-exposure surface.
What the hat doesn't do
It doesn't protect the rest of your body, and it doesn't replace whole-space EMF protection. For that, Waveguard's Qi devices use a different technology — depolarization — to address your entire environment. The hat and the Qi devices solve different parts of the same problem. They're designed to be used together.
Benefits
Protection That Goes On in the Morning and Works All Day.
Targeted Shielding
Your Qi device protects your space. The Faraday Hat protects your head — the one surface most directly exposed to the wireless signals you use every day.
Passive Protection on Every Call and Every Commute
Every phone call. Every pair of wireless earbuds. Every hour at a desk within arm's reach of a router. The hat works continuously without any input from you — no charging, no settings, no remembering.
The Natural Complement to Your Qi Devices
Waveguard's Qi devices use depolarization to protect your environment. The Faraday Hat uses Faraday shielding to protect your head. Different technologies, designed to work together.
Looks Like a Hat. Works Like a Shield.
Clean curved brim. Low profile. Mid crown. Waveguard logo. Three colorways that pair with anything you'd already wear — White, Black, and Grey. Nobody needs to know it's doing anything unless you want to tell them.
Comfortable Fit for Wearing All Day
The office. The commute. The gym. Errands. Travel. The hat integrates into your routine without changing it. Put it on. Let it work.

Commonly Asked Questions
Is this actually doing anything, or is it just a hat?
It's both — and the two aren't mutually exclusive. The hat is woven with silver-lined thread that creates a conductive mesh throughout the crown. Silver is a well-established conductor and has been used in EMF-shielding garments and technical protective equipment for decades. That same conductivity is what makes this hat work. It looks like a baseball cap because it is one. It also attenuates incoming EMF from nearby sources because of how it's made.
How is this different from the Qi devices?
Different technology, different coverage area — and they're designed to complement each other. The Qi devices use depolarization to reduce EMF across your entire environment — your room, your home, your personal space. The Faraday Hat uses physical silver-based shielding to reduce EMF exposure specifically at your head. The hat covers what the Qi devices don't — direct, close-range exposure from your own devices held near your skull.
I thought Faraday cages weren't practical for EMF protection?
For whole-home or whole-body protection, they're not — which is exactly why Waveguard developed the Qi devices instead. A Faraday cage requires a full enclosure around whatever it's protecting, which makes it impractical at scale. But a hat is already an enclosure around your head. The limitation that makes Faraday shielding impractical as architecture is what makes it perfectly practical as a hat.
Why does head protection matter specifically?
Your head spends more time in direct proximity to wireless sources than any other part of your body — phone calls, wireless earbuds, devices on a desk at eye level. Research on EMF's neurological effects has focused on the head and brain specifically for this reason. It's the highest-exposure surface, and until now, nothing in the market addressed it directly in a wearable form.
Will it look strange or draw attention?
It looks like a baseball cap with the Waveguard logo. Curved brim, low profile, mid crown. Three neutral colorways. Clean and minimal. Unless you tell someone what the silver thread does, there's nothing about it that signals anything other than a well-made hat.
How do I wash it?
Hand wash only in cold water and lay flat to dry. The silver-lined thread that gives the hat its shielding properties needs gentle care to maintain its conductivity over time. Machine washing is not recommended.
Does it fit large or small heads?
The adjustable clasp closure means one size fits most — you can tighten or loosen it to get a comfortable fit regardless of head size.
Qi-Shield
Cover the Rest of Your Personal Space
The hat covers your head. The Qi-Shield covers the rest of your personal space — a portable, always-on device that depolarizes the EMF field around your entire body, wherever you go.
Wear the hat. Carry the Qi-Shield. Between them, your personal space is addressed from every angle.
Qi-Me
Personal Protection Wherever You Go
The Faraday Hat protects your head. The Qi-Me protects the rest of you — designed for commutes, business travel, hotels, and any environment. Same Qi depolarization technology. Personal scale. Together, your head and your body are both covered.
