Waveguard began with a simple but powerful mission: to help people live healthier, more comfortable lives in a world filled with invisible electromagnetic fields. Our journey started with founder Hagen Thiers, who personally experienced sensitivity to electromagnetic radiation as a child. Rather than accept discomfort as normal, Hagen dedicated himself to finding a solution. After years of research and innovation, he introduced a new approach to mitigating electromagnetic exposure with Qi Technology — a depolarization method designed to reduce the disruptive effect of artificial EMF on the human body.
Our Vision & Why We Exist
Hagen Thiers, the inventor of Qi technology, was electro-sensitive as a child. Headaches, dizziness, sleep and concentration problems were part of his everyday life. Just like him, around 10 percent of Germans live with similar effects of electrosmog. For Hagen, escaping into areas with no electrosmog pollution wasn’t a permanent solution for him.
This is why, back in 2008, Hagen embarked on a mission to develop a solution that would offer protection against electromagnetic radiation. In order to make his vision a reality, he created various prototypes, tested their effectiveness and continuously improved upon them. In 2014, he founded Qi-Technologies.
Since 2019, we have been able to show numerous studies on our products and thus the effectiveness of Qi technology. Further studies are in progress. With focus on delivering our products to customers on the international market, Qi-Technologies became Waveguard. On October 27, 2022, Hagen Thiers received an award for innovation and international cooperation from the Association of European Inventors.

A New Chapter: Nuki, LLC Takes the Helm
Waveguard GmbH operated as an independent entity through 2024. During that year, Waveguard sold all intellectual property, studies, website assets, and global product rights for the Qi devices to Nuki LLC. This transfer included full authority to manufacture, market, and sell the Qi product line. The company of Waveguard was not included in this transfer and as such Nuki LLC simply owns the brand name and products of Waveguard. Nuki, a U.S.-based technology innovator, brought fresh energy, expanded infrastructure, and a deep commitment to Waveguard’s founding mission. Under Nuki’s stewardship, Waveguard is positioned for sustainable growth, stronger global support, and continued refinement of Qi technology products — all while preserving the trusted engineering and quality that customers have come to rely on.
This transition ensures continuity for existing Waveguard customers and strengthens our ability to serve you with faster fulfillment, responsive customer care, and expanded services like our refurbishment/recharge program — all backed by a stable U.S.-based organization.
What Sets Our Technology Apart
Waveguard products are based on Qi Technology, a unique depolarization approach designed to minimize the field strength of artificial electromagnetic fields without blocking signals outright. Instead of shielding, Qi technology uses specially configured materials and design patterns to transform disruptive EMF into less disruptive forms. Qi Technology is scientifically proven technology that lowers the field strength in its area of effect. We have commissioned more than 25 studies to verify the technical as well as biological effects.
Waveguard uses the effect of depolarization to reduce the field strength of electromagnetic fields. This effect occurs when artificial radiation (e.g. mobile radio) comes into contact with certain liquids. It is similar to the way a rainbow is created. The light beam is refracted and the light spectrum becomes visible. When radio beams are broken up, the field strength in the electromagnetic field is reduced.
