Electrosmog causes stress in our pets – risks for dogs and cats

Electrosmog causes stress in our pets risks for dogs and cats

According to Statista, there were around 34.3 million pets in Germany in 2019, with cats being the most popular pets. In 2019, around 14.7 million cats lived in households, followed by 10.1 million dogs. These animal companions are often referred to as our best friends, and when our four-legged friends get sick, it puts both emotional and financial pressure on the owner. The good news is, many diseases our pets suffer from can be avoided with simple steps. Electrosmog can often cause illness in pets. In this article, we will explain why this is the case. We will also give you useful tips on how to protect your companion from EMFs.

Does electrosmog affect our pets?

Electrosmog doesn’t only affect humans’ biology. Our pets can also experience negative effects from being exposed to electrosmog. Both dogs and cats have been shown to react to high and low frequency radiation. Some vets have observed that diseases subsided spontaneously, and blood values quickly returned to normal after a high-frequency EMF source has been removed from the pets’ living environment. Because animals can’t be subjects of a placebo effect, this is unlikely to be attributed to chance.

Why does electrosmog pose a risk to pets?

In animal and human cell membranes, we distinguish between two energy states:

  • parasympathetic (relaxed)
  • sympathetic (stressed)

Nutrients enter cells when in a relaxed state. Cells react to electromagnetic fields after a short exposure time. In contrast, when stressed, the cell membrane is closed and a supply of nutrients and energy doesn’t reach its destination in an optimal way. This can occur with high EMF exposure, for instance.

Which EMF sources are particularly dangerous for our pets?

Electromagnetic high frequencies are generated by cordless phones (DECT) and wireless internet networks (wifi). DECT phones produce electrosmog non-stop, no matter whether in an active mode or not. Wifi routers send pulses as long as they are plugged into a power supply. Mobile communications are also being expanded continuously (5G), all of it contributing to higher EMF exposure. You can find out more in our article titled “The 8 Most Common Sources of EMF in Your Home”.

How electrosmog affects pets?

Although EMFs are invisible, we shouldn’t ignore how it affects our pets.

According to an electrosmog study by Dr. Ulrich Warnke, Professor at Saarland University, the effects of mobile communications, wifi, high-voltage lines and similar EMF sources on the animal world are enormous.

Unfortunately, further scientific evidence is still hard to find, due to the often complex causes of disease where high-frequency EMFs are not always a singular cause. Poisoning causes similar symptoms, for instance. It’s also clear that every animal, as well as every human, has individual predispositions and weaknesses. EMF exposure tends to intensify this. Because of this, and because of the fact that not everyone reacts to it with the same intensity, the symptoms can be nonspecific and all the more difficult to assess.

However, the current body of evidence suggests that both dogs and cats suffer from exposure to electromagnetic fields. Reports from veterinary practices name the following symptoms.

Electrosmog can often trigger health related problems, such as sleep problems and lack of energy. What you’ll discover:
  • What is electrosmog and why it is so harmful to health;
  • How to mitigate EMF exposure;
  • Easy and effective protective measures to promote wellbeing of every member of your family.

Common symptoms from electrosmog in dogs

  • Limping on the forelegs or hind legs
  • Chronic diarrhea and thyroid malfunction
  • Skin diseases
  • Irritability and behavior disorders
  • Malaise and loss of appetite
  • Chronic ear and eye infections
  • Tumor formation

Common symptoms from electrosmog in cats

  • Skin and eye diseases
  • Irritability and behavior disorders
  • Chronic pain, especially in the loins
  • Chronic urine marking
  • Abscesses
  • Smelly stools
  • Tumor formation

What can you do to reduce your pet’s electromagnetic pollution?

  • Notice how the animal behaves in different places. Are there rooms that your four-legged friend avoids? This is where the EMF exposure can be highest.
  • Have the electrosmog levels in your home measured.
  • Consider high-quality radiation shielding in your home, especially the sleeping areas.
  • You can also reduce your own EMF exposure, which will ultimately affect your pet as well.
