Health consequences of electromagnetic radiofrequency radiation such as:
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Sleep disorders
- Lack of energy
- Lack of concentration
are to be associated with mobile radio and furthermore proven by studies.
In addition to the tissue heating officially confirmed by the World Health Organization (WHO), unnatural EMF sources cause athermal biological effects. These are caused by the excess of free radicals – particularly reactive oxygen compounds that are missing an electron.
Free radicals fulfill important functions in our body, e.g. they kill uncontrolled growing cells or destroy pathogens. However, they can also burden the organism by causing oxidative stress. This is a state of metabolism in which the concentration of free radicals is higher than necessary and at the same time a counterbalance in the form of antioxidants is missing or not strong enough.
Thus, various studies demonstrated, among other things, a connection between increased free radicals, oxidative stress and cancer. Damage to the genetic material has also been scientifically proven. As early as the 1950s, the American biologist Denham Harman discovered this phenomenon and also held free radicals responsible for the signs of aging in the skin and organs.
Cancer risk
The Cancer Research Group(IARC) of the World Health Organization(WHO) classified electromagnetic fields as “possibly carcinogenic” in May 2011. Because of numerous cautionary scientific studies, it is currently working on a risk reclassification. This is because epidemiological studies also indicate that low-frequency electromagnetic fields lead to an increased risk of leukemia in children.
In addition, a 2018 study conducted in Switzerland evaluated the effects of low-frequency EMFs on adult workers over an 18-year period. It was found that workers exposed to elevated EMF readings for extended periods of time were also at higher risk of developing certain types of leukemia.
Further decisive studies on the increased cancer risk due to electrosmog
Reflex study, 2004
The double-blind experiment investigated whether GSM radiation has health effects on human and animal cells. The result: mobile phone radiation destroys the cell nuclei. This results in a cancer-causing and -promoting effect.
Naila study, 2004
In a long-term study (1994-2004), a private physicians’ initiative in Naila (Upper Franconia) dealt with the health consequences of continuous exposure to radiation from transmission towers. They determined the number of new cancer cases in two groups of people living in different radius to a mobile phone transmitter: Radius 1: max. 400 meters, radius 2: 400 to 1,000 meters. Findings:
- The proportion of new cancer cases tripled in radius 1 compared with radius 2.
- New cases in radius 1 were on average 8.5 years younger.
NTP study, 2018
This is a long-term study in mice and rats to identify potential hazards from mobile phone fields. The result: It is certified that there is a clear connection between cancer and mobile radio. In addition, there is highest evidence for the occurrence of cardiac tumors and moderate evidence for brain tumors and diseases of the adrenal medulla in male rats.
Infertility
Study reports in the ElektrosmogReport
The studies on damage to the reproductive organs by mobile radio are extensive and unambiguous. Studies on this show pathological effects on male and female organs. The sperm and testicles of the man and the ovaries and oogenesis (egg maturation) of the woman are affected. For this reason, the environmental and consumer organization for protection against electromagnetic radiation Diagnose-Funk published a study overview in the series Brennpunkt (February 2016 issue) entitled “130 studies. Smartphones and tablets damage testicles, sperm and embryos“. In addition, the ElektrosmogReport (September 2019 issue) also Studies on the impairment of fertility by mobile phone and WLAN radiation presented.
Scientific article discloses various consequences
Another interesting scientific article titled “Radiation and Male Fertility” was published in the medical journal Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology in 2018. International authors Kavindra Kumar Kesari, Ashok Agarwal, and Ralf Henkel held that exposure to cell phones, microwave ovens, laptops, or WLAN has harmful effects on the testes. These can affect sperm count, morphology and motility and lead to
- DNA damage,
- Micronucleation,
- genomic instability,
- lead to disturbances in protein kinases, hormones and antioxidant enzymes.
Again, the anomalies depend on physical parameters such as exposure duration, distance to the radiation source, power density, and penetration depth.
